100 Years of History

Willem Huizenga migrated to Grand Rapids in 1891 and purchased the land in 1908 and the farm began. His son Louis Huizenga farmed until his death in 1946. Bill and Chuck continued farming after their Father's death. Lettuce and tomatoes were grown in the greenhouses.

Geraniums were first grown in the early 1960s. Little by little more and more flowers were grown. Chuck's son Louie took over in 1992.

Louie, together with his sons Matt and Daniel, are running the operation today—proudly continuing the long-standing tradition of Huizenga Bros. Greenhouse Inc.
